Designated hitter Phil Nevin went deep as the red-hot Santa Fe Trailer Bitches
defeated the Columbus Crowd by a score of 8 to 6 at the ballpark.
Curt Schilling(13-4) was solid if not spectacular. He was reached for 8 hits
and 2 walks in 7 innings. Schilling struckout 8 Columbus batters and gave up
2 homeruns. Columbus went down without a fight in the 9th.
Schilling got help from Jason Isringhausen who was credited with his 33rd
save. Ron Villone(7-7) was hit with the loss. He was touched for 4 homeruns
in his 4 and 1/3 innings of work.
With the win, Santa Fe continues their noteworthy winning streak. Dennis
Martin was clearly happy after the game -- 'Everything is clicking for us
right now.'
